Are you a foreign citizen who is over 18 and wants to get a first level diploma from secondary school (licenza media)?
To get a firt level diploma from secondary school (licenza media), you can apply to any school where they do FREE COURSES FOR ADULTS: these schools are called Centro Provinciale di Istruzione per Adulti (CPIA).
CPIA are schools run by the government , which also offer courses for foreigners and where all foreign citizens can enroll, provided they are 16 years old and over.
All CPIA offer specific services for for foreign citizens, in paticular:

? placement test to better define the level of a student and plan a personalised academic carreer
? the possibility to start half way through the academic year (if there are places available)
Lessons take place at different times during the day (morning, afternoon, early evening and evening) to allow all students to attend.
Courses start in September/October. It is advisable to enroll by June, because often there is a waiting list. If there are palces available, however, there is the possibility to start half way through the academic year.

If you want to improve your Italian (written and oral) you can enroll in a Centro Provinciale di Istruzione per Adulti (CPIA) where free courses of Italian for foreign adults are held
At the beginning of the academic year you will be asked to do a placement test to better define your level of Italian and create groups of students with the same level. If you enroll half way through the academic year, you must make an appointment to do the placement test, and only after, you will be put in a group of the same level as yours.
At the end of the course you will get the certificate you need for the Integration Agreement.

What is the integration agreement?
When you apply for a resident visa, you must sign the Integration Agreement (in a Sportello Unico per l'Immigrazione or at a Police Station). With the Agreement you agree to:
? Study Italian at Elementary level (level A2 at least)
? At the end of two years do a test to verify that you have learnt Italian level A2
? Attend a course to learn about the Italian National Health Service, the school sytem, social care, the job market and the tax system.
